It has a deep, full low end without any boominess, a detailed and clear midrange, and a smooth sweetness in the upper mids and highs, making it extremely versatile for use on any source without ever sounding harsh!

Featuring Royer's unique offset ribbon design: Most ribbon microphones have a figure eight polar pattern with both sides being identical in sound, the Royer R121 is a little different. While it does pick up in a figure eight polar pattern, the back of the R121 is brighter than the front. This added top end bump is perfect for recording acoustic guitars, vocals, and other sources where you want that little extra top end.
