The Radial Engineering USB-Pro is a stereo USB laptop DI that offers high-resolution conversion and a convenient plug-and-play solution for connecting a Mac or Windows computer to a PA system or mixing console. Additionally, it includes an integrated headphone amplifier for easy signal monitoring at the DI.
If you've ever tried connecting the headphone jack of a computer directly to a sound system, you know that buzz, hum, and interference can completely ruin the experience. With Radial's USB-Pro stereo USB laptop DI, you connect to your Mac or PC via USB (no driver necessary) and get crisp, clear 24-bit/96kHz audio quality. Two balanced XLR outputs let you connect with mixers and PA systems, giving you noise-free sound even over long cable runs.
The USB-Pro is equipped with two balanced XLR 3-pin outputs, allowing for microphone- or line-level input compatibility with the help of the unit's level control. Its auto-sensing USB input automatically configures the USB-Pro for digital input streams of up to 24-bit / 96 kHz resolution. Moreover, being bus powered via USB, it eliminates the need for batteries, phantom power, or bulky power adapters.
By engaging the mono switch, users can check for phasing, reduce the channel count on their mixer, or duplicate signals to the two XLR outputs. In case of ground loop-related hum or buzz, the side-panel switches enable the insertion of isolation transformers into the signal path. To further minimize susceptibility to noise, the USB-Pro includes a ground-lift switch that lifts pin 1 on the XLR outputs.
Constructed with rugged 14-gauge steel and Radial's bookend design, the USB-Pro ensures reliable durability for on-the-road use. Additionally, its no-slip pad provides both mechanical and electrical isolation, further enhancing its performance and longevity.
