The Industry Standard Active DI

The Radial J48 is a high performance active direct box built for both live stages and professional studios. It is designed to handle extreme transients without distortion to ensure the natural sound of your instrument always comes through clearly.

The Radial J48 is incredibly popular in the professional audio community, regarded as one of the best DI's around. With significantly more headroom, lower distortion and unmatched durability, it is no wonder that the J48 has become the most requested DI box on stages around the world. The J48 is exceptionally linear when tested both under lab conditions and when placed under the extra stress of 100 meters of cable. In the lab, the high frequency response actually exceeds 40kHz! This makes the J48 a perfect candidate for the most demanding studio recording while being the obvious choice for on stage.

Features:

  • Exceptional headroom & dynamic range
  • Retains the natural sound of the instrument
  • Merge switch sums stereo instruments to mono
  • Powered by 48V phantom, no batteries required

Higher Rail Voltage, Higher Headroom

Most active guitars and basses produce signals as high as 7 Volts when played at full volume. This output can easily overload standard active direct boxes which often only handle around 3 Volts. The J48 uses a unique switching power supply that raises the internal rail voltage to 9 Volts. This provides much better signal handling and plenty of headroom, significantly reducing distortion and allowing the natural tone and character of the instrument to shine through.
