The iRig Pre HD is a compact XLR microphone interface designed to bring any dynamic, condenser, or ribbon microphone to a phone, tablet, or computer at 24-bit/96kHz resolution. It connects via Lightning or USB, with a built-in Class A mic preamp offering 40dB of gain, switchable +48V phantom power (powered by two AA batteries), and a multicolor LED to help set gain levels correctly.
A dedicated headphone output with its own volume control supports direct, zero-latency monitoring while recording, useful for tracking vocals with a backing track or monitoring an interview subject in a noisy environment. Its compact, battery-powered design makes it well suited to location and field use as well as standard studio or home recording. It ships with a Lightning cable, USB cable, a velcro mounting strip, and a bundle of IK's recording software, including Mic Room, which adds modelled classic microphone character to recordings.
