Standalone DSP Room Correction and Calibration
Elevate your sound and improve your monitoring accuracy with the IK Multimedia ARC Studio Room Correction System. This room correction software and hardware bundle allows you to measure, analyse, and apply surgical EQ corrections to your speakers for more accurate monitoring. Because the ARC Studio functions as a standalone external DSP box, it can be used with any setup without having to worry about plugins/software slowing down your computer! This system helps minimise guesswork allowing your mixes to translate better so you don't have to jump between systems applying countless tweaks.
Your Room is Lying to You
Every studio has acoustic problems: room modes, flutter echo, bass buildup in corners, early reflections off hard surfaces. We have to learn to compensate for these in our mixes while checking mixes on multiple systems and guessing what's real. The IK Multimedia ARC Studio evens out these problems to eliminate any guesswork! This system measures the room precisely, corrects only the offending issues, and gives you monitoring you can actually trust. Tape Op Magazine's reviewer discovered a 6dB dip between 120Hz and 150Hz in their home studio after installing the ARC Studio, a problem they'd been compensating for without knowing it for years. "Installing the ARC Studio has literally flattened the problem. I feel so much more comfortable and happier with how my room sounds now."
Hardware Correction, Not a Plug-in
The key difference between the ARC Studio and software-only room correction systems is that the ARC Studio works as a standalone hardware processor sitting between your interface and your monitors, correcting all audio passing through it regardless of source. Streaming, vinyl, gaming consoles, DAW playback: everything benefits from the correction, not just your DAW sessions. There's no plug-in to insert on the master bus, no driver conflicts, no latency issues, and no need to bypass the processor before bouncing mixes. Once calibrated it runs completely computer-free, and updateable firmware means it stays relevant as your studio setup evolves.
Monitor Emulation
ARC X also includes a monitor emulation function with over 20 profiles covering iconic studio monitors, hi-fi speakers, and mobile devices. Rather than heading to your car or buying a second pair of monitors to check how your mix translates, you can audition it through different reference systems without leaving your chair. For broadcast and streaming applications, you can also check how audio will sound on multiple consumer playback systems.
An Instant Upgrade to Any Room
The ARC Studio works in any studio environment: home studios, project studios, professional studios, broadcast, or post-production, or even just your own room for gaming. DAW-based, console-based, Pro Tools HDX: it doesn't matter. It's works great in untreated or partially treated rooms where physical acoustic treatment alone isn't enough, but also makes a meaningful difference in professionally treated spaces by correcting the residual issues that bass traps and diffusers haven't been able to fix. As Tape Op put it: "I would never suggest skipping physical room treatment, but ARC Studio is an excellent final touch for your studio space."
