Amphion One15 Passive Two Way Studio Monitor - Single

GOBIRD's favourite monitors! GOBIRD have used the Amphion One15 monitors paired with the Amphion Amp700 at our studio (Cordial Studios) since 2022. They are the perfect balance of clarity and detail without being fatiguing to your ears over long sessions. They are revealing enough to make critical mix decisions while still being beautiful to listen to for when you'd like to jam some music. The mix translation you get from Amphion monitors is great, you'll find yourself testing mixes much less on other systems because of the confidence Amphion monitors give you.

The One15 is a two-way passive nearfield studio monitor built around Amphion's signature low-crossover, point-source design. Instead of splitting the signal between tweeter and woofer somewhere in the middle of the critical hearing range, the crossover sits low at 1600Hz, letting a single driver handle most of the range where the ear is most sensitive. Amphion pairs this with a CNC-machined Corian waveguide that time-aligns the tweeter and woofer, achieving tight phase coherence and precise stereo imaging.

The cabinet uses a sealed enclosure with a rear-mounted passive radiator rather than a bass port, this avoids the turbulence and pressure inconsistency that ported monitors can introduce, for tighter bass and more predictable low-end response. The One15 is an accurate, low coloration reference monitor suited to critical mixing and mastering work, Amphion describes its intended character as honest and easy to listen to for extended sessions. 

Recording Mag's Paul Vnuk Jr. described the sound stage of the One15's by saying: With all Amphion offerings, “If you sit in the sweet spot, close your eyes, hold out your arms to try and point at where you think the monitors are and then open your eyes, you will most likely be pointing at much wider angles than where the speakers really are!”
