AKG C214 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

The AKG C214 is the little brother of the legendary C414, designed to be a more affordable alternative to their flagship C414 range. It uses one capsule from the legendary C414's dual-capsule design, combined with AKG's patented Back-Plate Technology, which delivers sound and performance close to the C414 B-XLS.

The capsule sits on an integrated suspension to reduce mechanical noise transmitted through the mic stand. A switchable 20dB attenuation pad allows the mic to handle sound sources up to 156dB SPL without overloading, and a high pass filter at 160Hz helps control unwanted rumble.

The C214 is a versatile studio workhorse for engineers wanting near C414 performance at a lower cost. It's well suited to vocals, drum overheads, rooms, guitars, piano, strings, almost anything you can think of!
