The AKG C214 Matched Pair is a factory-selected stereo set of AKG's C214 large-diaphragm condenser microphones, offering near identical performance to each other. The C214 is the little brother of the legendary C414, designed to be a more affordable alternative to their flagship C414 range. It uses one capsule from the legendary C414's dual-capsule design, combined with AKG's patented Back-Plate Technology, which delivers sound and performance close to the C414 B-XLS.
The capsule sits on an integrated suspension to reduce mechanical noise transmitted through the mic stand. A switchable 20dB attenuation pad allows the mic to handle sound sources up to 156dB SPL without overloading, and a high pass filter at 160Hz helps control unwanted rumble.
The C214 is a versatile studio workhorse for engineers wanting near C414 performance at a lower cost. The matched pair is specifically great for stereo recording on drum overheads, rooms, acoustic guitar, piano, choirs, strings and anything else that needs stereo recording!
