The Radial Engineering StageBug SB-5 is an ultracompact passive direct box designed for DJs, musicians, and presenters who need a simple, reliable solution for connecting a smartphone, tablet, or laptop to a PA system, a mixing console, or an audio interface. Equipped with two custom-wound transformers, it reduces hum and buzz while allowing long cable runs.
The StageBug SB-5 features a 3.5mm TRS stereo mini plug on an attached 5' cable for direct hookup to your mobile device. Outputs include two 1/4" TRS jacks and a balanced XLR 3-pin male connector. A stereo-to-mono merge function allows easy routing of your stereo source into a mono mixer channel. Use the -15 dB pad to avoid distortion when dealing with high-output content such as mastered tracks.
Thanks to its passive design, the StageBug SB-5 requires no batteries or phantom power. It sports a ground-lift switch to inhibit problematic noise from ground loops. Integrated side-panel hooks enable convenient and tidy cable management.
