Audient ASP800 8-Channel Microphone Preamp with Converters, HMX, & IRON

The ASP800 is Audient's 8-channel mic preamp and ADC, he ASP800 is the perfect tool for expanding your existing interface, giving you 8 extra channels of Audient mic pre via ADAT ontop of your existing system. The ASP800 shares the same discrete, transformerless Class-A preamp circuit found in Audient's ASP8024-HE recording console and features class leading Burr-Brown AD conversion. The ASP880 adds extra versatility with two JFET DI's and two "Retro" channels, which add HMX and IRON, a pair of analogue coloration circuits designed to introduce the kind of tube and transformer character associated with 1960s and 70s British consoles.

HMX uses discrete MOSFET technology to produce asymmetrical harmonic distortion, adding richness and body to the preamp's tone. IRON uses a custom British transformer paired with a high voltage MOSFET drive network, adding saturation similar to tape distortion and the sparkly character of 1970s recording. A single control adjusts bass response, high frequency damping, phase shift, magnetic saturation and transient shaping, letting you instantly add character to your audio.
