Amphion Amp400.8 8-channel Power Amplifier

GOBIRD have used Amphion speakers paired with the Amphion Amp700 at our studio (Cordial Studios) since 2022, Amphion make incredible gear that we at GOBIRD love!

The Amp400.8 is Amphion's 8-channel multichannel power amplifier, built for immersive and multichannel monitoring setups like Dolby Atmos rooms, where several matched amplifier channels are needed rather than a single stereo pair. Since all 8 channels are identical and discrete, it can also be used as a 2-channel amp driving up to 4 pairs of passive speakers if a multichannel setup isn't needed. Rather than relying on Class D alone, Amphion developed a buffer stage to achieve even better sonics by adding a touch of Class A sound to the efficiency of a Class D design. The Amp400.8 was also a finalist for the 38th Annual TEC Awards in the Amplification/Studio Sound Reinforcement category.
